My name is Ron Khatker, and I have worked in the NDIS and disability sector for more than 12 years in the Taree and surrounding community. I live locally with my wife, an early childhood teacher, and our son.
My strongest skills come from a mix of hands-on experience and formal training. I hold a Master’s Degree in Finance and a Diploma in Community Welfare, and I am currently completing counselling training to better support clients and families.
I have worked across various roles in the NDIS system, including:
Registered Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Local Area Coordination (NDIS)
Psychosocial and Mental Health support worker
Disability advocate
Family and community support( specialised in CALD communities )
Through these roles, I saw how confusing and stressful the NDIS can be — not just for participants, but also families and carers. I started Disability Rights Network because I believe Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching are the most powerful way to create meaningful change in people’s lives.
Ready to experience Support Coordination that truly makes a difference?
Let’s start achieving your goals together.
Do I have Support Coordination funding?
If Support Coordination is included in your plan, you will find it under the Capacity Building section.
If it's not included, I can help you submit a request for it to be added.
What does Independent mean?
Being independent means I work only for you, not for a company that provides other services. That means there’s no conflict of interest, you stay in control, and I’ll assist you to make sure your plan works for you, without pressure, and with no hidden agenda.
My funding is agency-managed, can you support me?
At the moment, I can only work with participants whose Support Coordination budget is plan-managed or self-managed.
If your funding is agency-managed, I’m happy to help you submit a plan variation request to change it. Once it’s approved, we can start the onboarding process
What exactly does a Support Coordinator do?
We act as a bridge between you and everyone involved in your support network, like your therapists, support workers, plan manager, the NDIS, and other service providers. We make sure all the moving parts are working together smoothly, and some of the ways we do that include:
"Translating" your NDIS plan in understandable language.
Finding and connecting you with providers and support staff you enjoy working with (and cancelling them if you don't).
Liaising with your providers and stakeholders and setting up service agreements.
Helping you stay on top of your funding, so you don’t run out early or leave money unused.
Checking in regularly to make sure everything’s working for you and your support network is running smoothly.
Stepping in when things get tricky (like service issues or changes in your needs).
Supporting you to prepare for plan reviews, change of situation requests and other plan changes.
Reporting to the NDIS.
Responding to all your NDIS-related questions so you always feel supported and listened to.
Can I change my Support Coordinator?
Absolutely. You can change your Support Coordinator anytime. You’re not locked in, and that goes for any NDIS provider. If something’s not clicking, your Support Coordinator should support you in finding you a better fit, both for Support Coordination and any other formal NDIS support.
